GRCA Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC)

About the GRCA Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC)

Mission: To provide assistance to all GRCA clubs involved with or considering hosting a Regional or National Specialty. Assistance is provided through handbooks, aid with document preparation, coordination with GRCA, and advice/information on any of the multitude of questions/problems that arise during the planning and execution phases of these events.

The SAC is made up of former chairs of both Regional and National Specialties during recent years. Because these people have gone through all the stages of planning and conducting specialties, they are uniquely qualified to assist other clubs in their efforts to do the same. As a committee, we are involved in updating both the Regional and National handbooks, making sure that philosophy and details are as up-to-date as possible. Meanwhile, we are making the extra effort to further streamline the process for host clubs by providing templates for premium lists, catalogs, letters to judges, etc. We are also working closely with GRCA to minimize the work necessary by the host club in many areas, such as filling out AKC applications, speeding up communication on necessary topics, forwarding needed documents, etc. All member clubs who are considering hosting a Regional or National specialty should consider this committee an asset to be used throughout the process.

If you have questions about any aspect of planning or conducting a National or Regional or have suggestions for improvements, please feel free to contact the SAC Chairperson.
