Potomac Valley GRC Learning Event and Fun Match

PVGRC will be holding a learning event and fun match (along with a general membership meeting) on February 18th at Canine Training Association (CTA) in Beltsville, MD.

Starting at 10:00 a.m. there will be a one hour handling demo. This will consist of breed ring manners, handling tips, one-on-one handling and one-on-one ring time. The Novice handler will be given a friendly critique of her or his handling skills, experienced handers can use this time to work with their puppies and young dogs.

Starting at 11 there will be an obedience briefing consisting of novice handler tips and individual feedback as well as ring protocol for the novice obedience handler. This could consist of learning fronts and finishes, retrieving exercises, go outs, and scent.

At noon the club will hold a meeting which will include the annual vote for the new club officers.  A pot luck lunch will accompany the meeting.

After the meeting there will be a fun conformation match and an obedience match to show and try out what you have learned.

We are also privileged to have Elizabeth Breyer available to talk with anyone interested in volunteering to be a conformation steward. We need help at our shows, so please take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about stewarding.
