Responsible for assisting member clubs who host National and Regional Specialties
Committee of:

Two to five Committee Members
All should have recent experience in a National Specialty and interest is assisting others to do the same. Experience in hosting a Regional Specialty is also beneficial. The Chair and the committee members should represent each of the three GRCA Regions, if possible.
Committee type:
Ongoing. Chairman and all members of the committee should be reviewed annually. The GRCA Board of Directors will appoint all members to this committee.

Characteristics needed:
Interest in assisting clubs to host National and Regional Specialties.
Ability to answer questions or find out answers.
Prompt attention to inquiries.
Ability to write (or select someone to write) any updated pages needed for Specialty handbooks
Ability to proofread.
Good communication skills
Ability to work well with people.
Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
Must be proactive to keep host clubs on schedule and anticipate problems.

Committee’s Responsibilities:
1. The Chairman will oversee all activities of this committee
2. Contact chairs of upcoming host clubs for Nationals and Regionals. Offer assistance. Make sure they have been sent appropriate handbook. Maintain contact via e-mail or telephone during the years leading up to each event. Answer questions and provide support.
3. Keep Board apprised of possible problems and areas of concern with Nationals and Regionals. Suggest solutions.
4. Keep host clubs apprised of GRCA’s requirements, changes, etc.
5. Advise each National host club to reserve block of 30 rooms.
6. Work with GRCA Treasurer on financial statements from host clubs.
7. If appropriate, visit with potential national host clubs to provide them with information about submitting a possible bid.
8. Answer general questions about GRCA’s National and Regional Specialties from outside inquiries.
Assistant’s Responsibilities:
Maintain documentation on National and Regional specialties including, but not limited to:
1. ReviseNational and Regional Specialty handbooks as necessary with regard to new Board resolutions, AKC changes in policies and procedures, etc.
2. Proofread all National and Regional Specialty premium lists before they are printed and mailed.
3. Maintain list of past and future host clubs for National and Regional specialties.
4. Maintain list of judges of previous National specialties in all events.
5. Make sure this information is available on the GRCA website.
