Responsibilities: One person to monitor the AKC online breeder referral site for
claims of GRCA membership. One person to monitor the Internet at large.
Submit notification to GRCA Board when false claims regarding
GRCA membership or affiliation arise. Include details of the listings including name, address, web contact and violation.
Capture information on ages and clearances of listed dogs from false claimants for future statistical purposes.
Maintain data and records in a usable format.
Promptly notify the BOD directly if unable to fulfill committee responsibilities, or if assistance is temporarily required.
Turn complete records and files over to successor.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHAIRMAN:
- Assist in completion of initial rules, regulations, forms and applications for committee
- Review and suggest revisions to forms, rules, regulations and applications as may be needed on an ongoing basis
- Assign committee members to oversee applications and database of evaluators, database of dogs entered in program, review of evaluation sheets and application of program criteria to same, and issuance of certificates
- Provide annual report to GRCA Board
- Assist clubs in locating evaluators for programs, answer questions regarding rules and procedures
- Prepare handouts and information to clubs or GRCA members regarding program
- Submit list of qualified dogs to GRNews for publication
- Interface with evaluators regarding qualification, evaluations and evaluation forms

Membership Administrator
Position: Membership Administrator
Reports to: Treasurer, Golden Retriever Club of America, Inc. (GRCA)
This position is an independent contractor performing a contracted service reimbursed at an hourly rate, plus expenses. The Membership Administrator is not an employee of GRCA.
PURPOSE:
The Membership Administrator is responsible for maintain current and accurate records of GRCA memberships and subscriptions to the Golden Retriever News, for processing applications for membership and membership renewals, for providing such lists and reports as are necessary for the orderly conduct of GRCA business, and for maintaining historical files of original documents.
DIMENSIONS
Financial:
- Verify and deposit to a GRCA bank account all fees paid for memberships and subscriptions and sales revenues remitted with membership renewals, approximately $130,000.00 annually.
- Provide the Treasurer with a complete accounting of all deposits.
- Routine expenditures for postage, supplies and telephone shall be submitted to the Treasurer with receipts for reimbursement. Additional contracted services such as printing and clerical assistance shall be billed to an paid directly by the Treasurer.
Personnel Supervised:
The Membership Administrator is authorized to hire unskilled clerical help during the annual renewal period, and for such special projects as may be directed from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Non-Financial Dimensions:
- Maintain an automated data base of approximately 5500 records
- Process and file approximately 4500 renewals annually
- Process and file approximately 1000 new member applications annually
- Maintain an inventory of supplies for new member packets, including booklets, decals and forms

GRCA Breed Education Committee (BEC)
1. MEMBERS' EDUCATION
Purpose: The purpose of the Members' Education Subcommittee shall be to educate GRCA members in all facets of the Golden Retriever in an effort to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the breed's abilities, temperament, conformation, history and care.
Qualifications:
- The four subcommittee members and the chair, as a group, must reflect a variety of interests, knowledge and experience.
- All subcommittee members shall have been a member of GRCA for at least four years.
Typical topics/projects: Articles, brochures and audio/visual programs on a variety of topics, such as, but not limited to:
- Selecting a puppy
- Nutrition, housing, health care
- Temperament and behavior
- Grooming
- Showing
- Obedience
- Tracking
- Agility
- Encouraging participation by juniors
- Responsible dog ownership
- Beginning training
- Rescue
- The breed's heritage as a hunting dog
- Breed history
- Club policies, programs, code of ethics

2. FIELD EDUCATION
Qualifications:
- The subcommittee chairperson shall have documented experience in at least WCX, Senior Hunter, or the Qualifying level in field trials and shall be knowledgeable andsupportive of all areas and levels of field activity from a Working Certificate to a Field Championship.
- The subcommittee members shall have been a GRCA member for at least eight years.
- The six subcommittee members, as a group, shall reflect a full range of different field activity participation (GRCA Working Certificate program, AKC hunt tests, AKC licensed field trials and hunting).
Typical topics/projects: Articles, brochures and audio/visual programs on a variety of field training topics, such as, but not limited to:
- How to train your puppy for field work.
- How to train your Golden to become a Junior Hunter.
- How to train for advanced hunt tests.
- Hunt tests versus field trials; what's the difference?
- How to join a field training group and find grounds for training.
- A glossary of field terms.
- An overview of the WC/WCX program -- objective, rules, necessary training and equipment.
- The breed standard and its relationship to working field dogs.
- What "primarily a hunting dog" really means.
- Natural instincts versus trained responses.
- Articles or other materials comparing the various field events.
- Understanding the importance of preserving the Golden Retriever's natural hunting abilities.

- Send preformatted letters to recipients usinglabels furnished.
- Receive pictures, pedigrees and checks
- Forward checks to GRCA Treasurer
- Copy pedigrees and forward to Julie Cairns
- Forward pictures and pedigrees to Yearbook Editor
- Verify dog’s name, owners name and address are stated on back of each picture.
- Be prepared to mail approximately 1200 letters in staggered mailings over a two-year period.
