This small gem is actually a would function well as a Puppy Psych 101 text. The authors cover things to consider when selecting a puppy, environmental influences on behavior, developmental periods and a breeder's responsibility, puppy testing, socialization, shaping the puppy's behavior, the pack leader concept, and puppy training. A sound introduction to understanding the basics of dog behavior written in a very understandable manner. A brief index and recommended reading list is included. Line drawings and photo illustrations are provided.
