Skills required:

Ability to interact tactfully with others

Ability to deal with contacts and correspondence in a timely manner

Ability to maintain accurate records

Basic knowledge of computers, E-mail, and word- processing software

Must be friendly, respectful, cordial, and polite

Capable of communicating well, particularly via E- mail

Active listener; empathetic to individual questions and requests

Able to write clearly and understandably, particularly with novices

Ability to spend as much time as needed to deal fully and promptly with requests in a timely manner

Should be knowledgeable of many facets of the GRCA, the sport of dogs, areas of competition, health concerns, breeding, etc.

Must have knowledge of information offered on the GRCA web site.

Responsibilities:

Respond to information requests received directly, or forwarded by members of the GRCA Board of Directors

Refer inquires to appropriate puppy referral volunteers in the inquirer’s geographic location

Refer inquires of a general nature to a GRCA Information Volunteer.

Keep a log of the number of requests received by type: puppy referral, requests for breeding information such as stud dog referrals, and general information.

Provide an annual report to the GRCA Secretary each year.
