Title: Editorial Review Board
COMMITTEE OF:
Three to seven members, with a Chairman appointed by the GRCA Board; additional committee members to be selected by the Chair and subject to approval from the GRCA Board.

Computer with internet connection and word processing program
E mail capability with document attachment permitted
Preprinted review forms
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Organizational skills
Delegation skills
Ability to read documents and locate “hot” areas such as libel, fraud, and overreaching in the article; legal background a plus but not required
Editorial skills in editing, drafting and reviewing documents
Interpersonal skills and tact
RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHAIRMAN:
Recruit and maintain committee members versatile in various areas, especially veterinary, breeding, showing and performance activities
Receive articles from Editor of the Golden Retriever News and assign number and deadline
Review article to ascertain if ERB review is required
If ERB review is required, assign article in timely fashion to committee members for review
Receive and analyze review forms on articles
Make suggested revisions to articles, or suggested caveats for articles
Communicate with Editor of Golden Retriever News and authors of articles regarding any proposed changes or caveats to articles
Maintain database of articles and review forms
Provide annual report to GRCA Board
RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
Complete disclosure form regarding conflicts
Receive and review in a timely manner any articles submitted by Chairman
Complete review form honestly and completely, making suggested changes to articles or suggesting protective caveats
Communicate with Chairman regarding articles and issues on the same
